Plasma Physics research, and especially fusion energy research, is currently undergoing major development. This is due in part to the advancement of theory, advanced modeling, and a growing industry. In our group, we aim to research cutting-edge topics, engage with startups, and obtain important software development skills.
Opportunities are available for all backgrounds, as described below.
Ph.D. Graduate Students
Our plasma physics research is looking to expand its depth in the machine learning realm, applied maths, and computational physics realms. We are looking for outstanding graduate students looking to grow into even more outstanding Ph.D. physicists.
Current graduate students in the Ph.D. program are encouraged to contact Rogerio Jorge if they are interested in pursuing their Ph.D. research in our group.
Prospective graduate students interested in the Ph.D. program should apply to the UW-Madison Physics Department and are encouraged to contact Rogerio Jorge if they are potentially interested in pursuing their Ph.D. research in our group.
Post-doctoral researcher
Our group is seeking a postdoc to advance stellarator optimization. Possible PhD backgrounds include mathematics, physics, and computational science.
Applicants should send a CV and cover letter to Rogerio Jorge.
